Our firm designed the renovation and addition of this skilled nursing and therapy facility.  It was designed to expand the facilities ability for physical, occupational, and speech therapy.  It is situated on 105 acres of beautiful Central Pennsylvania countryside with incredible views to the Southwest.  As a result, the building was angled, and the main therapy space frames these views overlooking the surrounding landscape.  This angle also is used as a daylighting strategy allowing light to penetrate deep into the space.

We designed this with the end user in mind.  The main patients are elderly individuals with some type of physical ailment.  By providing a design that “felt like home,” patients will be able to relax more and focus on their rehabilitation.  The other key component is the dining room which also takes advantage of the natural light.
