Fort Augusta Replica Model

Client: Northumberland County Historical Society
Location: Sunbury, PA

It was an honor to be a part of this historical project for the city of Sunbury.  We created drawings for a 1/6 size replica model of the original Fort Augusta built in 1756.  The replica model was built on the front lawn of the Hunter House Museum, which was located on a portion of the site for the original fort.  This was unlike any standard architectural project.  Typical architectural projects require strict adherence to building codes.  For the model we were more concerned with quality and longevity of the materials and methods of construction.  One of the critical details we provided was a concrete base to set all the wood posts on to protect it from the elements.  Another detail was to fill the center area with gravel and drains to move any water away from the model.  These details required more thought than traditional details due to the small scale we were working with.
